INTRODUCTION

When we met, we both lived in wooden country houses overlooking water.

We visited the National Gallery of Canada on December 10, 2000.

We walked up the long, granite ramp.
The light was magical.

By the time we left, we were engaged.

Less than six months after we were married, we started to sketch the shapes of barns.

We had ideas, magazine images and
lots of Lego.

We toiled while our rabbit Handsome Henry
slowly ate the little log cabin we lived in.

Of course, we had schedules packed with other Very Important Things as well.
